This tutorial is written for PSP 7.04 but it does work out at other versions :-)
This tutorial is completely my own creation and any similarity to other tutorials, is purely coincidental.
I've got the idea for this tutorial after seeing a picture like this on the Internet.
If you know who is the artist of the original please let me know so I can give credit.
You will need:
Of course Paint Shop Pro. Download 30 days trial here.
Eye Candy 4000.
Eye Candy 4000 Jiggle preset. Download HERE and place it in to your Eye Candy 4000 Jiggle Settings folder.
Color Palette. Click at the palette. A new window will open. Right click to save.
Pattern I used. Click at the pattern. A new window will open. Right click to save.
Eye Candy 4000 Jiggle Settings are:
Jiggle will be added to the Head, Arms, Hands, Legs and Feet from the Bears.
Open new transparent canvas 500x500.
Preset shape Rounded Rectangle. Vector and Anti Alias checked.
Foreground color 1. Background color 2.
Draw a rectangle about 155x50.
Rotate it a bit to the left.
Convert to raster. Rename to left leg.
Apply Jiggle.
Noise 7% Uniform.
Duplicate, Mirror. Line up.
Preset shape Ellipse. Vector and Anti Alias checked.
Foreground color 1. Background color 2.
Draw an ellipse about 75x100.
Rotate it a bit to the right.
Apply Jiggle.
Noise 7% Uniform.
Duplicate, Mirror. Line up.
Go back to your left foot layer.
Selection/Select All/Float.
Contract by 15.
New layer called Inner Left foot.
Flood fill with color 1.
Contract by 1.
Flood fill with color 3.
Deselect.
Apply Jiggle.
Add noise.
Duplicate, Mirror.
Rename layer Inner right foot.
Preset shape Pentagon. Vector and Anti Alias checked.
Foreground color null. Background pattern.
Draw an up-side-down pentagon about 155x140.
Node Edit.
Right click at bottom node. Node type/Symmetric.
Move the node a bit to the bottom
Add nodes like this:
Bring shape in your dress.
Convert to raster and rename Dress.
Selection/Select All/Float.
Drop shadow. V 0, H -1, Opacity 100, Blur 2, Color 1.
You now have something like this:
Preset shape Pentagon. Vector and Anti Alias checked.
Foreground color null. Background color 4 (or any color matching your pattern).
Draw an up-side-down pentagon about 80x70.
Move the layer underneath the dress layer.
Right click at bottom node. Node type/Symmetric.
Move the arrow to the left till both sides are matching to the dress.
Add a node in the middle of the top.
Right click. Node type/Symmetric.
Move it down to make a shape for the neck.
Convert to raster and rename Top Dress.
Selection/Select All/Float.
Drop shadow. V 0, H -1, Opacity 100, Blur 2, Color 1.
Preset shape Pentagon. Vector and Anti Alias checked.
Foreground color null. Background pattern.
Draw a pentagon about 65x70 for the right sleeve.
Rotate it a bit to the left.
Bring shape into your sleeve. Just the way you did with the dress and upper dress.
Convert to raster. Rename Right Sleeve.
Selection/Select All/Float.
Drop shadow. V 0, H -1, Opacity 100, Blur 2, Color 1.
Duplicate. Image Mirror. Rename Left Sleeve.
Move this layer underneath top dress layer.
Move the left sleeve layer so that you only see about 1/2 of it.
Preset shape Rectangle. Vector and Anti Alias checked.
Foreground color 1. Background color 2.
Draw a rectangle about 35x15.
Convert to raster. Rename Neck.
Apply Jiggle and add noise.
Go back to the top layer.
Preset shape Ellipse. Vector and Anti Alias checked.
Foreground color 1. Background color 2.
Draw an ellipse about 120x90.
Rotate it a bit to the left.
Convert to raster. Rename Head.
Apply Jiggle and add noise.
Preset shape Ellipse. Vector and Anti Alias checked.
Foreground color 1. Background color 2.
Draw an ellipse about 65x45.
Rotate it a bit to the left.
Convert to raster. Rename Muzzle.
Apply Jiggle and add noise.
With the Eraser tool erase the bottom part of the muzzle.
Go back to your right sleeve layer.
Preset shape Ellipse. Vector and Anti Alias checked.
Foreground color 1. Background color 2.
Draw an ellipse about 40x50.
Rotate it to the left.
Convert to raster. Rename it right ear.
Apply Jiggle and add noise.
Duplicate. Mirror, flip. Move it into place.
Rename layer to Left Ear.
Go to your muzzle layer.
Add new layer called Muzzle Details.
Foreground color 1. Background color closed.
Draw tool. Line width 1, color 1. Vector unchecked.
Draw details.
Gaussian blur 1.0.
New layer called Ear Details.
Foreground color 1. Background color closed.
Draw tool. Line width 1, color 1. Vector unchecked.
Draw details.
Gaussian blur 1.0.
You now have something like this;
Back to the top layer.
Foreground color closed. Background color 5.
Draw an up-side-down triangle about 22x15.
Node edit.
Make all nodes symmetric.
Convert to raster and rename Nose.
Rotate till you are happy with it.
Apply Round inner bevel.
Foreground color closed. Background color 5.
Draw an ellipse about 7x14.
Convert to raster and rename Right Eye.
Rotate to the left 45%.
Move this layer underneath Muzzle layer.
Draw another eye.
New layer called eye brows.
Use the same settings as Muzzle Details and draw eye brows.
New layer called cheeks.
Color 6.
Airbrush with these settings:
Gaussian blur 7.
Back to your Dress layer.
Preset shape Ellipse. Vector and Anti Alias checked.
Foreground color 1. Background color 2.
Draw an ellipse 45x100.
Rotate a bit to the left.
Convert to raster. Rename Right Arm.
Apply Jiggle and add noise.
Preset shape Ellipse. Vector and Anti Alias checked.
Foreground color 1. Background color 2.
Draw an ellipse 40x45.
Bring shape into your hand.
Convert to raster. Rename Right Arm.
Apply Jiggle and add noise.
New layer called Right Hand Details.
Draw details for the hand using same technique as with the muzzle details.
Preset shape Ellipse. Vector and Anti Alias checked.
Foreground color 1. Background color 2.
Draw an ellipse 40x85.
Move layer underneath left sleeve layer.
Move into position.
Convert to raster. Rename Left Arm.
Apply Jiggle and add noise.
Preset shape Ellipse. Vector and Anti Alias checked.
Foreground color 1. Background color 2.
Draw an ellipse 50x55.
Move into position.
Convert to raster. Rename Left Hand.
Apply Jiggle and add noise.
Now we are going to add details to dress, sleeves and top dress.
Add for every detail a new layer, but first go to top foot layer.
You might need to move some of the layers up.
This is what you have now:
There is one thing we need to do and that is to add shadow to the dress parts.
I used the Darken and Lighten tool with these settings:
Before you do the Darken and Lighten Select and Float the part you are working on.
After finishing up you can add more details you want as background etc. to the bear.
Save as PSP in separate layers.
Duplicate window.
Merge layers visible.
Tube your creation.
Your are finished.
