Karin's Beautiful Site, Pocket Pal Tutorial





This tutorial is written for PSP 7.04 but it does work out at other versions :-)

Needs:

Of course Paint Shop Pro. Download 30 days trial HERE.

Open transparent canvas 500 x 500.

Add a new layer called pocket.

Use your preset tool to draw a Pentagon. Antialias Checked. Vector Unchecked. Use a color or pattern you love. I used a pattern I made long ago.

You now have something like this:



Selections/Select All/ Float.

Selections/Modify/Contact with +/- 20. Depends on the size of your pocket.

Magic Wand/RGB/Tolerance and Feather 0.
Hold down the Shift and click outside the pocket with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert.

Flood fill with your color or pattern. I changed the Scale to 50 and the Angle to 90.

Inner Bevel with these settings:



You now have something like this:



If you want you can add some stitches around the pocket.
I uses these settings:




Add a new layer called picture.
Place it underneath your pocket layer.

Add a tube you like as your pal.

Flood fill the background with the color or pattern of your pocket.
Go back to your pocket layer.
Add a drop shadow with these settings:


Add another drop shadow but change horizontal and vertical to -1.

Add the same drop shadows to your tube.

This is the result:
