Fluffy Snowman Tutorial

This tutorial is written for PSP 7.04 but it does work out at other versions :-)
This tutorial is completely my own creation and any similarity to other tutorials, is purely coincidental.

Needs:

Of course Paint Shop Pro. Download 30 days trial HERE.

Color palette. Click at the image. A new window will open. Right click to save.


Eye Candy 4000.

Open new transparent canvas 500x500.
Foreground color null. Line 1. Background color color 1.
With your preset shapes set to Ellipse. Antialias and Vector checked draw an ellipse in the lower part of your canvas for the body. About 335x230.
Convert to raster. Rename to Body.
Selection/Select All/Float.
Cutout. H/V 0, Opacity 100, Blur 100. Color 2.
Deselect.
Noise/Add Noise/Uniform 7.
Apply Eye Candy 4000 Jiggle with these settings:



Selection/Select All/Float/Selection Invert.
Apply Drop Shadow. H/V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 50, Color 5.
Deselect.

Foreground color null. Line 1. Background color color 1.
With your preset shapes set to Ellipse. Antialias and Vector checked draw a ellipse in the lower part of your canvas for the head. About 150x145.
Place it in the top/middle of your body.
Convert to raster. Rename to Head.
Selection/Select All/Float.
Cutout. H/V 0, Opacity 100, Blur 100. Color 2.
Deselect.
Noise/Add Noise/Uniform 7.
Apply Eye Candy 4000 Jiggle. Same settings as above.
Selection/Select All/Float/Selection Invert.
Apply Drop Shadow. H/V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 25, Color 5.
Deselect.

New layer called Left Eye.
With your selection tool. Circle. Draw a circle for the eye.
Flood fill with black.
Apply Round inner bevel.
Duplicate layer. Mirror. Line it up. Rename Right eye.

New layer called Nose.
With your selection tool. Circle. Draw a circle for the nose.
Flood fill with color 7.
Selection/Select All/Float.
Cutout. H/V 0, Opacity 25, Blur 10. Shadow color color 8.
Deselect.
Add Noise.
Selection/Select All/Float/Selection Invert.
Apply Drop Shadow. H/V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 25, Color 5.

New layer called Mouth.
Draw tool. Freehand. Antialias checked. Size 2. Foreground color black. Background color null.
Effects/Blur/Soften.

Go to your Body layer.
Foreground color null. Line 1. Background color color 1.
With your preset shapes set to Triangle. Antialias and Vector checked draw an up-side-down triangle in for the head details. About 85x90.
Place it in the top/middle of your head.
Convert to raster. Rename to Head Detail.
Selection/Select All/Float.
Cutout. H/V 0, Opacity 100, Blur 100. Color 2.
Deselect.
Noise/Add Noise/Uniform 7.
Apply Eye Candy 4000 Jiggle. Same settings as earlier.
Selection/Select All/Float/Selection Invert.
Apply Drop Shadow. H/V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 25, Color 5.
Deselect.
Duplicate this layer. Resize 75%. Turn it a bit to the left.
You now have something like this:



Go back to your top layer.
New layer called Hair Bow.
Draw tool. Freehand. Antialias checked. Size 2. Foreground color 7. Background color null.
Draw a bow.
Selection/Select All/Float.
Apply Metallic inner bevel.

Foreground color null. Line 1. Background color color 1.
With your preset shapes set to Rounded Rectange. Antialias and Vector checked draw an rectangle for the left arm. About 45x110.
Convert to raster. Rename to Left Arm.
Object Selector/Node Edit.
Add some nodes like this:



When you are satisfied with the shape convert to raster. Rename Left Arm.
Selection/Select All/Float.
Cutout. H/V 0, Opacity 100, Blur 100. Color 2.
Deselect.
Noise/Add Noise/Uniform 7.
Apply Eye Candy 4000 Jiggle. Same settings as earlier.
Selection/Select All/Float/Selection Invert.
Apply Drop Shadow. H/V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 25, Color 5.
Deselect.
Duplicate this layer. Rename Right Arm.
You now have something like this:



New layer called left foot.
Selection tool set to Ellipse.
Draw an Ellipse.
Set your selection tool to Rectangle.
Hold down the Ctrl key and draw a rectangle at the bottom of the ellipse you just draw.
Flood fill with black.
Apply Round inner bevel.
Duplicate/Mirror. Line up. Rename Right Foot.

If you want you can add a tube underneath the arms.

Shift + D to copy picture.
Merge Visible and export as tube.

Save the original without merging as PSP file.

You're Finished.
