Before you start... It is not my intention to hurt anyone by this tutorial. I don't want to hurt, discriminate etc. anyone and it isn't my intention to do this by this tutorial. I only want to teach and write PSP tutorials :).
This tutorial is written for PSP 7.04 but it does work out at other versions :-)
This tutorial is completely my own creation and any similarity to other tutorials, is purely coincidental.
Needs:
Of course Paint Shop Pro. Download 30 days trial HERE.
Color palette. Click at the image. A new window will open. Right click to save.
I was inspired after seeing a picture like this in a (Dutch) magazine.
Open new transparent canvas 500x500.
With your preset shapes set to Ellipse. Foreground color null. Background color color 3. Antialias and Vector checked.
Draw an ellipse in the middle of your canvas for your body. About 290x240.
Rotate a bit to the right.
Convert to raster. Rename to Body.
Click at layer 1.
With your preset shapes set to Rounded Rectangle. Foreground color null. Background color color 3. Antialias and Vector checked.
Draw an rectangle for your shirt. About 140x105.
Rotate a bit to the right.
Click at the Object Selector.
Node Edit.
Add some nodes like this:
Bring shape into your shirt.
You now have something like this:
Convert to raster. Rename to Shirt.
Hide layer 1.
Merge the other two layers visible.
Rename to Body.
Selection/Select All.
Add new layer called Details.
Draw tool. Freehand. Size 2. Foreground color color #244707. Background color null.
Draw a few lines for the butt.
Blur/Gaussian blur 2.
Deselect.
Make a new layer above the body layer.
Airbrush. Color #244707. Use these settings:
Blur/Gaussian blur 4.
New layer.
Airbrush. Color White. Same settings as above. Only change size to 30.
Blur/Gaussian blur 10.
Go to your body layer.
Selection tool set to rectangle.
Draw a small rectangle at the bottom of your body. Hit delete key.
You now have something like this:
Go to your body layer.
Selection/Select All/Float/Invert.
Go to the other layers one by one and hit the delete key to get rid of possible airbrush spray.
Deselect.
If it's right your layer 1 is still hidden.
Merge the other layers visible.
Rename Body.
Selection/Select All/Float/Invert.
Drop shadow. V/H 0, Opacity 50, Blur 75. Color 2.
Add Noise 4% Uniform.
With your preset shapes set to Rectangle. Foreground color color 3. Background color color 2. Antialias and Vector checked.
Draw an rectangle for your bottom dress.
Add nodes like this:
Convert to raster and rename Bottom Dress.
Selection/Select All/Float/Invert.
Drop shadow. V/H 0, Opacity 50, Blur 75. Color 3.
Add Noise 4% Uniform.
Make layer 1 active.
With your preset shapes set to Rectangle. Foreground color color 5. Background color color 4. Antialias and Vector checked.
Draw an rectangle just large enough to cover up the empty back part of the body.
Convert to raster. Rename Back.
Using the retouch tool.
Darken. Same settings as above. Only change size to 7.
Darken a little part from the middle of the open body part.
Selection/Select All.
Cutout. V/H 0, Opacity 75, Blur 50. Color #FFA177.
Deselect.
Noise Add 4%.
Make layer 1 active.
With your preset shapes set to Ellipse. Foreground color color 5. Background color color 4. Antialias and Vector checked.
Draw an ellipse for the left arm.
Convert to raster. Rename Left Arm.
Selection/Select All/Float.
Cutout. V/H 0, Opacity 75, Blur 50. Color #FFA177.
Deselect.
Noise Add 4%.
You now have something like this:
Make layer 1 active.
With your Draw tool set to Point to Point. Foreground color color 5. Background color null. Antialias and Vector checked.
Draw a shape for the right arm.
Like this:
Line it up. Maybe a little rotation is needed.
Convert to raster. Rename to Right Arm.
With your magic wand click in the blank area of the arm.
Expand with 1 pixel.
Flood fill with color 4.
Deselect.
Selection/Select All/Float.
New layer called right arm detail.
Draw tool. Freehand. Size 2. Foreground color color 5. Background color null.
Draw some details like this:
Deselect.
Blur/Gaussian Blur 1.
Go back to your Right arm layer.
Selection/Select All/Float.
Add new layer above the right arm detail layer called Highlight.
Airbrush color white. Same settings as above but change size 7 and for the under arm to 9.
Deselect.
Blur/Gaussian Blur 2,50.
You now have something like this:
Hide all layers except Right Arm, Right Arm Detail and Right Arm Highlight.
Merge visible. Rename Right Arm.
Selection/Select All/Float/Invert.
Drop Shadow. V/H 0, Opacity 75, Blur 50. Color 5.
Deselect.
Add Noise.
Make layer 1 active.
With your preset shapes set to Ellipse. Foreground color color 2. Background color color 3. Antialias and Vector checked.
Draw an ellipse for the breast. About 75x60.
Rotate a bit to the right.
Move this layer underneath the right arm layer.
Convert to raster and rename Breast.
Selection/Select All/Float/Invert.
Drop Shadow. V/H 0, Opacity 75, Blur 50. Color 2.
Deselect.
Noise Add 4%.
Selection/Select All
New layer called Highlight.
Add a little airbrush highlight with these settings:
Deselect.
Blur/Gaussian Blur 3.
Make layer 1 active.
With your preset shapes set to Ellipse. Foreground color color 5. Background color color 4. Antialias and Vector checked.
Draw an ellipse for head. About 105x125.
Rotate a little bit to the right.
Convert to raster and rename Head.
Selection/Select All/Float.
New layer called Head Detail.
Draw tool. Freehand. Size 2. Foreground color color 5. Background color null.
Draw some details like this:
Go to your head layer.
Selection/Select All/Float.
New layer called Head Highlights. Above the Head Details layer.
Airbrush color white. Same settings as for the arm.
Spray some highlights at the head.
Deslect.
Blur/Gaussian Blur 1.
Hide all layers except all the head layers.
Merge visible. Rename Head.
Selection/Select All/Float/Invert.
Drop Shadow. V/H 0, Opacity 50, Blur 50. Color #FF9F75.
Add Noise.
Make all layers visible.
Copy the ks_lips file provided in the zip and paste as new layer. Just underneath the body layer. Move into position.
Copy ks_beverage and paste as new layer above the breast layer. Move into position.
Copy ks_lefteye and paste as new layer above top layer. Move into position.
Copy ks_righteye and paste as new layer above top layer. Move into position.
Copy ks_hair and paste as new layer above top layer. Move into position.
New layer called Cheek.
Draw a little ellipse for the cheek using the selection tool.
Feather with 7.
Flood fill with #FF9F75.
Line it up.
Duplicate layer and mirror. Rename Cheek 2.
Line it up.
Make head layer active.
Selection/Select All/Float/Invert.
Go to your Cheek layer and hit delete.
Go to your Cheek 2 layer and hit delete.
Deselect
Lower opacity of both Cheek layer till you're happy with it.
Go to bottom layer.
Copy ks_shoes and paste as new layer. Move into position.
Shift + D to copy picture.
Merge Visible and export as tube.
Save the original without merging as PSP file.
You're Finished.
