This tutorial is written for PSP 7.04 but it does work out at other versions :-)
This tutorial is completely my own creation and any similarity to other tutorials, is purely coincidental.
Tutorial inspired by a Wall Hanger I bought.
Needs:
Of course Paint Shop Pro. Download 30 days trial HERE.
Color palette. Click at the image. A new window will open. Right click to save.
Decorations Zip file
Open new transparent canvas 700x700.
Foreground color null. Background color color 4.
With your preset shapes set to Triangle. Antialias and Vector checked draw a large triangle in the middle of your canvas for your dress. About 340x336.
Not to close to the edges. We need to add the feet, arms, head and wings later on, so there has to be room for them :).
Objects/Align/Center. This way your body would be exact in the middle of your canvas.
Click at your Object Selector.
Click at Node Edit.
Add some nodes like this:
When you are satisfied with the shape convert to raster and rename this layer Dress.
Selections/Select All/Float.
Effects/Texture Effects/Weave with these settings (Weave and Gap color color 7):
Do not Deselect!
Selection Invert
Drop Shadow with these settings (Shadow color #47495D):
Deselect.
Apply this Inner Bevel:
Foreground color null. Background color color 1.
With your preset shapes set to Rounded Rectange. Antialias and Vector checked draw a small rectangle for your left arm. About 45x250.
Rotate a bit to the right and line it up against your dress.
Click at your Object Selector.
Click at Node Edit.
Add some nodes like this for the hand:
When you are happy with it convert to raster and rename to Left Arm.
Selections/Select All/Float.
Foreground color color 2. Background color null.
Foreground texture set to painted texture.
Flood fill your arm.
Apply Pillow Inner Bevel but change Ambience to 40 and Shininess to 30.
Duplicate/Mirror.
Line up if needed. Rename to Right Arm.
You now have something like this:
Foreground color null. Background color color 1.
With your preset shapes set to Ellipse. Antialias and Vector checked draw an ellipse for your head. About 150x170. Don't forget to turn off the texture you just used!
Click at your Object Selector.
Click at Node Edit.
Add some nodes like this for the ears:
Convert to raster and rename Head.
Selections/Select All/Float.
Foreground color color 2. Background color null.
Foreground texture set to painted texture.
Flood fill your head.
Apply Pillow Inner Bevel but change Ambience to 40 and Shininess to 30.
Foreground color null. Background color color 1.
With your preset shapes set to Ellipse. Antialias and Vector checked draw an ellipse for your muzzle. About 85x85. Don't forget to turn off the texture you just used!
Click at your Object Selector.
Hold down the Ctrl key and move the right bottom node a bit to the right.
Still holding down the Ctrl key move the right top node a bit to the left.
When you are satisfied with your muzzle convert to raster and rename to Muzzle.
Selections/Select All/Float.
Foreground color color 3. Background color null.
Foreground texture set to painted texture.
Flood fill your muzzle.
Invert Selection.
Drop Shadow as mentioned above but change shadow color to color 1.
Apply same inner bevel as you used the last time.
Foreground color null. Background color black.
With your preset shapes set to Triangle. Antialias and Vector checked draw a triangle for your nose. Don't forget to turn off the texture you just used!
Draw a small up-side-down triangle for the nose.
Line it up. Convert to raster and rename Nose.
Apply Round inner bevel.
New layer called Mouth.
Draw tool. Freehand, size 3. Draw some lines for the mouth.
You now have something like this:
Foreground color null. Background color black.
With your preset shapes set to Ellipse. Antialias checked. Vector unchecked. Draw an ellipse for your left eye.
Apply Round inner bevel.
Duplicate/Mirror. Line up if needed. Rename to left and right eye.
Foreground color null. Background color color 1.
With your preset shapes set to Ellipse. Antialias and Vector checked draw an ellipse for your inner ear.
Rotate a bit to the right and line it up.
Convert to raster and rename left inner ear.
Apply following inner bevel:
Duplicate layer. Mirror. Line it up and rename to right inner ear.
Foreground color null. Background color color 2.
With your preset shapes set to Rounded Rectange. Antialias and Vector checked draw an ractangle for your bottom dress. About 390x45.
Click at your Object Selector.
Click at Node Edit.
Add some nodes like this:
When you are satisfied with your bottom convert to raster and rename to Bottom Dress.
Selections/Select All/Float.
Foreground color color 3. Background color null.
Foreground texture set to painted texture.
Flood fill your bottom dress.
Invert Selection.
Same drop shadow as for the muzzle.
Foreground color null. Background color color 2.
With your preset shapes set to Triangle. Antialias and Vector checked draw a large triangle in the middle of your dress for the apron. About 228x228.
Click at your Object Selector.
Click at Node Edit.
Add some nodes like this:
When you are satisfied convert to raster and rename to Apron.
Selections/Select All/Float.
Foreground color color 3. Background color null.
Foreground texture set to painted texture.
Flood fill your apron.
Invert Selection.
Same drop shadow as for the muzzle.
Foreground color null. Background color color 2.
With your preset shapes set to Rounded Rectangle. Antialias and Vector checked draw a rectangel for your left feet. About 45x190.
Click at your Object Selector.
Click at Node Edit.
Add some nodes like this:
When you are satisfied convert to raster and rename to Left Foot.
Selections/Select All/Float.
Foreground color color 3. Background color null.
Foreground texture set to painted texture.
Flood fill your foot.
Invert Selection.
Same drop shadow as for the muzzle.
Move this layer underneath Dress layer.
Duplicate/Image Mirror. Line it up and rename Right Foot.
New layer called Lines. Draw some lines from the top of the leg to the dress.
Draw tool foreground color color 1. Background color null. Size 5. Freehand.
Apply Metallic inner bevel.
New layer called Feet details.
Open the ks_strawbow (150%) and the button (150%). Place on both feet a bow and button.
Open the ks_wreath. Copy and paste as new layer.
Move it just under the left hand. Draw at a new layer (like the feet lines) a line from the wreath (50%) to the hand.
Rename layer Wreath.
Go to your right feet layer.
Open ks_wings file. Copy and paste as new layer. Rename layer to Wings.
Rotate 10% to the right.
Go back to your top layer.
New layer called Bottom Dress details.
Draw tool. Color 7. Size 3. I used the Barbed Wire.
Same layer with your paintbrush tool. Size 5. Color 1. Paint some dots at the vaulting of your bottom dress.
New layer called Apron Details.
Use your own imagination to draw the details.
You now have something like this:
Foreground color null. Background color color 6.
With your preset shapes set to Heart. I used Heart 2. Antialias and Vector checked draw heart for decoration. About 60x225.
Rotate a bit to the right.
Convert to raster and rename to Heart.
Selections/Select All/Float.
Cutout with these settings (shadow color black):
Invert Selection.
Same drop shadow as for the muzzle.
New layer called Heart Details. Copy the strawbow layer and past as new selection.
Leave selected.
Resize 200%. Sharpen. Using deformation tool rotate it a bit if desired.
Same layer.
Copy the button and past as new selection.
Leave selected.
Resize 150%. Sharpen. Place it in the middle of your strawbow.
Open ks_bow and past as new layer. Rename to Bow.
Resize to 125%. Sharpen.
Foreground color null. Background color color 5.
With your preset shapes set to Star. I used Star 2 . Antialias and Vector checked draw a star. About 80x80.
Convert to raster and rename to Star.
Selections/Select All/Float.
Foreground color color 3. Background color null.
Foreground texture set to painted texture.
Flood fill the star.
Cutout with same settings as above.
New layer called Lines. Draw a line from the top of the head to the star.
Draw tool foreground color color 1. Background color null. Size 5. Freehand.
Apply Metallic inner bevel.
Almost done :)
New layer called Hanger. Draw a line for the hanger.
Draw tool foreground color color 1. Background color null. Size 5. Freehand.
Apply Metallic inner bevel.
Move this layer underneath the left feet layer.
Shift + D to copy picture.
Merge Visible and export as tube.
Save the original without merging as PSP file.
You're Finished.
